THE SUDANESE OIL INDUSTRY
NO LESSON LEARNED:

A REVIEW OF JOHN PRENDERGAST'S "GOD, OIL AND COUNTRY: CHANGING THE LOGIC OF WAR IN SUDAN"

In January 2002, the International Crisis Group (ICG) published a book-length report on Sudan entitled 'God, Oil and Country: Changing the Logic of War in Sudan'.

THE 'EUROPEAN COALITION ON OIL IN SUDAN'

Misinformed, Irresponsible and Arrogant

The issue of Sudanese air force bombing of targets within the ongoing war in southern Sudan, fought between the government and the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA), has, in recent years, been focused upon by several governments, non-governmental organisations and the media

THE RETURN OF THE 'UGLY AMERICAN':

Eric Reeves and Sudan

In the past eighteen months, Dr Eric Reeves, a professor of English at Smith College in Massachusetts, has emerged as a commentator on Sudan. He began his Sudan involvement in the Spring of 1999, and has taken a year's leave to continue his activities full-time.

ARROGANT, MISLEADING AND PREJUDICED:
Christian Aid on Sudan

On 15 March 2001 Christian Aid, a British non-governmental organisation, published a report entitled The Scorched Earth: Oil and War in Sudan. Civil war has raged in Sudan off and on since 1955, and has been fought between the Sudanese government and rebels in southern Sudan.
THE DISPLACEMENT OF TRUTH:
Amnesty International, Oil and Sudan

Sudan: The Human Price of Oil. This report claimed to examine human rights abuses in the oil-producing areas of south-central and southern Sudan. It stated that "[t]he pattern of human rights violations includes atrocities and the forcible internal displacement of large populations of local peoples".
SMITH COLLEGE, ERIC REEVES AND SUDAN:

What Price a Reputation?

ERIC REEVES' "REPORTING CREDIBILITY" ON SUDAN DEVASTATED BY REUTERS REPORT

ERIC REEVES, THE WORLD FOOD PROGRAM AND DISPLACEMENT
In response to the 14 February 2001 news article by Reuters, the World Food Program (WFP) has elaborated on the issue of displaced civilians within southern Sudan's oil fields (a copy is appended below). The letter was the latest development surrounding recent claims made by Dr Reeves', the increasingly discredited American academic campaigning to secure international sanctions on Sudan

ALLEGATIONS OF OIL DEVELOPMENT DISPLACEMENT IN SUDAN ASSESSED AGAINST INDEPENDENT SOURCES
As a consequence of a flurry of interest following a 14 February 2001 news article by Reuters on allegations of civilian displacement within one of the oil-producing areas of southern Sudan, outside observers are uniquely in a position to assess the claims made by people such as Roger Winter and Dr Eric Reeves
ERIC REEVES, SUDAN, DISPLACEMENT AND DOUBLE STANDARDS
Eric Reeves, an English teacher at Smith College in Massachusetts, has since 1999 set himself up as a long-distance commentator on events within the Sudanese oil fields, stating that he was opposed to the Sudanese oil project and those foreign oil companies involved within it.
ERIC REEVES AGAINST AFRICA
When Smith College's Dr Eric Reeves demands an end to the Sudanese oil project, his poorly-informed campaign attempting to interfere with economic investment in Sudan brings him into direct conflict with the other countries within the Horn of Africa region.
ERIC REEVES' GHOULISH ATTEMPT TO EXPLOIT THE NEW YORK AND WASHINGTON BOMBINGS

On Wednesday, 12 September, at 09:25, less than 24 hours after the horrific terrorist bombings of the World Trade Center and Pentagon, Dr Eric Reeves, an anti-Sudan activist within the United States, saw fit to distribute a posting entitled 'Sudan, Osama bin Laden, and Terrorism'.

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, CHILD SOLDIERS AND WAR CRIMINALS:
