Misinformed, Irresponsible and Arrogant

On 31 May 2001, a number of European organisations, describing themselves as "working for peace for Sudan", launched what they called the 'European Coalition on Oil in Sudan' (ECOS). This "public appeal" was regrettably characterised by questionable allegations and stale positions.

On 14 December 2000 the Dutch government officially launched the 'Voice of Hope' radio station, a station broadcasting into Sudan and aimed at a southern Sudanese audience.
